Here we have a 2016 C63s W205 Coupe that Darth Vader would drive. The client's brief was make it mean and aggressive - perfect!
We started out by creating a bit of a plan to make sure all the mods tied in together. This concept and design process is vital to the success of any project we undertake at BMR Autowerkes. The mods list included:
- a meaner, lower stance, courtesy of the KW Height Adjustable Springs
- blacking out the chrome bits on the car with the BMR Blackout package
- lightweight forged 20" wheels finished in black
- more noise from the exhaust
The KW Height Adjustable Springs lower the vehicle's centre of gravity which improves handling whilst getting rid of the wheel gap. The benefit to this is that it keeps the car's electronic dampers so the comfort and sport settings are all retained.
The BMR Blackout package includes a black grille (we left the Mercedes 3 Pointed Star in chrome to provide a bit of contrast and create a 'floating star' effect), vinyl wrapping the chrome door handles in gloss black vinyl and replacing all the chrome badges with gloss black ones. These subtle additions are all necessary to create the Darth Vader 63.
Wheels can make or break a project. Thankfully for this project they are an absolute standout. We selected a set of contemporary yet aggressive looking directional HCA210 wheels from BC Forged. These wheels not only look good but are incredibly lightweight and strong. The centre finish is matte black whilst the barrel is finished in gloss black, perfectly complementing the rest of the car while allowing the red AMG calipers behind the wheels to stand out and show that this car means business.
Lastly for a bit more noise we went with a relatively simple yet highly effective secondary cat delete. This keeps the trademark AMG bark and burble but makes it mildly louder and gives the car a lot more pops and crackles particularly in 'Race' mode.
